چکیده

This paper introduces a notion of a random threshold directed graph, extending the work of Reilly and Scheinerman in the undirected case and closely related to random Ferrers digraphs. We begin by presenting the main definition: D is a threshold digraph provided we can find a pair of weighting functions f, g : V (D)→ R such that for distinct v, w ∈ V (D) we have v → w iff f(v) + g(w) > 1. We also give an equivalent formulation based on an order representation that is purely combinatorial (no arithmetic). We show that our formulations are equivalent to the definition in the work of Cloteaux, LaMar, Moseman, and Shook in which the focus is on the degree sequence, and present a new characterization theorem for threshold digraphs. We then develop the notion of a random threshold digraph formed by choosing vertex weights independently and uniformly at random from [0, 1]. We show that this notion of a random threshold digraph is equivalent to a purely combinatorial approach, and present a formula for the probability of a digraph based on counting linear extensions of an auxiliary partially ordered set. We capitalize on this equivalence to develop exact and asymptotic properties of random threshold digraphs such as the number of vertices with in-degree (or outdegree) equal to zero, domination number, connectivity and strong connectivity, clique and independence number, and chromatic number.

Asymptotic enumeration of strongly connected digraphs by vertices and edges

We derive an asymptotic formula for the number of strongly connected digraphs with n vertices and m arcs (directed edges), valid for m − n → ∞ as n → ∞ provided m = O(n log n). This fills the gap between Wright’s results which apply to m = n+O(1), and the long-known threshold for m, above which a random digraph with n vertices and m arcs is likely to be strongly connected.

Threshold Digraphs

A digraph whose degree sequence has a unique vertex labeled realization is called threshold. In this paper we present several characterizations of threshold digraphs and their degree sequences, and show these characterizations to be equivalent. Using this result, we obtain a new, short proof of the Fulkerson-Chen theorem on degree sequences of general digraphs.

More skew-equienergetic digraphs

Two digraphs of same order are said to be skew-equienergetic if their skew energies are equal. One of the open problems proposed by Li and Lian was to construct non-cospectral skew-equienergetic digraphs on n vertices. Recently this problem was solved by Ramane et al. In this  paper, we give some new methods to construct new skew-equienergetic digraphs.

On small subgraphs in a random intersection digraph

Given a set of vertices V and a set of attributes W let each vertex v ∈ V include an attribute w ∈W into a set S−(v) with probability p− and let it include w into a set S(v) with probability p+ independently for each w ∈ W . The random binomial intersection digraph on the vertex set V is defined as follows: for each u, v ∈ V the arc uv is present if S−(u) and S(v) are not disjoint. For any h = ...

One of the characterizations is new, and allows for a shorter proof of the equivalence of the two known characterizations as well as proving the final c...
